Q&A with Jack Ward

We asked Jack our spotlight questions, and this is what he had to say…

What’s life like at Gud Ideas

Life here at Gud Ideas is excellent, I’ve learnt a lot of valuable skills that I don’t think I would have learnt anywhere else, like coding and InDesign. Before joining, I had absolutely no knowledge on either of these, but now I definitely feel confident!

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing your current role?

I’ve always wanted to run my own clothing brand, so if I wasn’t in my current position, this is most likely what I would have attempted. Having my own clothing brand would allow me to still show my creative side as I do now and I could see the success of my efforts in my final results.

How do you define success?

My idea of success is becoming self-sufficient, without the need to depend on others for help.

Who do you look up to?

I look up to my mother, as she has always been a model for success in my life. She has never failed to provide the greatest of lives for me while still pushing me to achieve the best I possibly can, and for this, there is no doubt that she is my role model.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

I would have to say coffee and tea as these are the ultimate wake up and cool down drink.

What is your greatest fear?

My biggest fear in life is failure. I have always tried my best to succeed in everything I do, and when I do fail or don’t achieve what I set out to, this always brings me down.

What is your favourite thing to do?

Going to the skate park, because it helps to relieve stress and allows me to do what I love. I have been going for more than seven years, and I wouldn’t really know what to do in my spare time as this is my main hobby and interest.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you

I’m ranked as 11th in the UK for professional scootering as of 2018. I have over 33 thousand followers on Instagram, which is getting larger by the day because of this hobby and I absolutely love doing it.

Why not follow him at @halfbarz!

The hardest thing you have ever had to do

I would say the most difficult thing I have ever had to do is saying goodbye to family members.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?

Just work hard and don’t get distracted by bad influences, as these are what can separate your life from greatness and failure. I would also tell myself to get into web design at a much earlier age to prepare myself for the future.

All Cheesed out

With Jack’s questions out of the way, we would like to thank him for both his time and his answers. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for more Gud Ideas Under the Spotlight Q&A sessions.
